Dorothy Marie Rhyne, 96, of Perryville died October 28, 2012 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born on June 18, 1916 in Crosstown, MO, daughter of Elia E. and Christina (Bohnert) Sandlin. She and Herbert Pingel were married on May 27, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1961. She and Theodore Rhyne were married May 17, 1968. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2001. Mrs. Rhyne had been a sales clerk for Rozier's Variety Dept for 25 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Concordia Ladies Aid, VFW Auxiliary Post 4282, and former DAV Auxiliary member. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Brueckner of Cape Girardeau; three daughters-in-law, Shirley Pingel of Perryville, Betty Roth of Cape Girardeau, Judy Douglas of Farmington; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three sons Robert, Don and Dwight Pingel; and two brothers, Clifford and Willard Sandlin. Friends may call at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 30 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with VFW Auxiliary wake at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 31 from 6:30 to 8:30 am. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev.Matthew Marks officiating. Burial in Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or American Heart Association Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
