Jason R. W. Addler, Sr. of Waynetown passed away Thursday. He was 42.
Mr. Addler worked at R. R. Donnelley, Heidtmann Steel and Town Place Mariott. He served in the National Guard for eight years from 1988 to 1996. He was a 1988 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and achieved an Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech in Heating and Air, graduating at the top of his class.
Born Sept. 9, 1970 in Lebanon, he was the son of James and Sandy Covey. He married Franka Shirar on May 23, 2009 in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. She survives.
Additional survivors include four sons, Jason Addler, Jr. and Jacob Addler, both of Crawfordsville, Jared Addler and Kaden Addler, both at home, his father, James Covey, mother, Sandy Covey, three step-sons, Kalen (Kelsey) York, Ethan York and Sean York, brothers, James “Jim” Addler, Jonathan (Dixie) Addler, both of Crawfordsville, Philip (Chelsea) Addler of Monroe, North Carolina, Adam Covey and James "Jamie" Covey, sister, Jacquie (Tony) Cook of Fredricksburg, Virginia, step-sister, Michelle Addler and four grandchildren, Boston Addler of Linden, Blayke Shorter, Colin York and Maren York, all of Crawfordsville . In addition to his grandparents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Devic Addler.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday in Burkhart Funeral Home with Rev. Greg McDonald officiating, followed by a committal service at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 2 PM Monday.
