Dennis J. Cronin, age 87, of Edgewater, died Tuesday at home. Born in the Newburyport, Massachusetts, Mr. Cronin came to this area in 1978 from Raymond, New Hampshire. Mr. Cronin served with the U. S. Army in World War II in the European Theater, and became a prisoner of war. A graduate of the New England School of Art and Design, Mr. Cronin was a self employed building contractor.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Louise; a son, Dennis (Patricia) of Edgewater, 3 daughters, Susan (Ron) Eagan of Edgewater, Sharon Colgan of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Sally (Ron) Short of Berkley, Massachusette; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the All Faiths Mausoleum at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Mark Spivey officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. today at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 2381 Mason Avenue, Ste. 100, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
