Wesley “Buddy” Luther Baker age 79 of Alex, OK, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at his home in Alex. He was born on November 20, 1932 in Newcastle, OK. He was the 3rd child of 8 children born to Charlie Wesley Baker and Johnnie Lucille (Allen) Baker. Buddy grew up a farm boy in the Newcastle community. He attended Newcastle H. S. and graduated with the class of 1952. While in H.S. he met the love of his life, Eddie Bee Russell. She was a young lady who grew up in Rosedale, OK and transferred to Newcastle H.S. her junior year. Buddy and Eddie were married on June 21, 1952 in Oklahoma City. Together they lived in OKC for the next 43 years where they raised six children and he was a member of the Sherwood Baptist Church. Buddy worked for nearly 35 years as a warehouseman for TG&Y. He also operated firework stands for nearly 30 years in Tuttle, Minco and other towns. He loved being in the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to stock car races and playing softball in an industrial league for many years. In 1995 Buddy and Eddie moved to Alex, OK and attended the First Baptist Church of Bradley. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Funeral services are 1:30 PM Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Interment will be at 4 PM at the Alex Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Bradley, OK.
