Opal G. Bishop, 87, of Parsons, died on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at her home.
She was born on January 14, 1925, in St. George, WV, a daughter of the late Ernest and Leota Thomas Carrico.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a homemaker. She was also a member of the Church of Christ in Parsons.
She is survived by a daughter, Marlene Nestor and husband Darl of Rowlesburg; four sisters, Gladys Shoemaker, of Alexandria, VA, Ollie Bible, of Adrian, MI, Hazel Karl, of Bliss Field, MI, and Betty Clelland, of Morenci, MI; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bishop in 1974, a daughter Pauline Bishop, and her brother, Calvin Carrico
Family and friends may call at Browning Funeral Home, in Kingwood, on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at 11:00am with the Reverend Robert Uphold officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kingwood.
