Laura Franks Hart, 62, of Del Rio and Marfa, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at her home on Lake Amistad, Del Rio, Texas. She was born November 22, 1949 in San Antonio to Leonard Shelton Franks and Agnes Woller Franks. She grew up and attended school in Marfa. Laura moved to Marfa from San Antonio with her family when she was 7 years old. She has also lived in Presidio, Brackettville, The Colony, Del Rio, Three Rivers, Waco, and Sierra Blanca, Texas. She was a housewife until she started working at the Brackettville National Bank. She left the bank and moved to The Colony in 1981 to work for Fox and Company, a house fire brought her back to Brackettville, then she moved to Del Rio soon thereafter and worked for Shuler and Company, there she met the Love of her Life, Jerry A. Hart and they married March 16, 1985. After traveling and working various jobs Laura and Jerry moved back to Marfa in November 1988 to help take care of her parents. Laura started working at the Marfa National Bank in January 1989. She loved her work, became Vice President and worked until she fell ill the Spring of 2006, she retired on disability. Laura was active in the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club in Marfa, Texas. Preceded in death by her parents Leonard Shelton and Agnes Woller Franks, she is survived by her husband of 27 years and 7 months, Jerry A. Hart of Del Rio, Texas; three daughters Etta (Debbie) Sproul-Parrott and her husband, William of Marfa, Texas and Veronica (Ronnie) Latham-Emerson and her husband William of Fairbanks, Alaska, Tawnya Burch and her husband Rodney of Tomball, Texas, and a son Robert E. Latham and his wife Telisha of New Braunsfels. Three sisters, Sandra Holzehouser and her husband Holy of Fort Davis, Barbara Maness and her husband Weldon of San Angelo, and Martha Cosley and her husband Al of San Antonio. Ten grandchildren, Jerik and Janika Gilly, Allie Latham, London, Teagon, and Kendal Emerson, Brenton, Kiel, Clayton, and Courtney Burch. An Aunt Barbara Gallard of San Angelo. Honorary Pallbearers are Grady “Shorty” Vic, Charles Bolf, Jim Jones, Brad Bradley, Abel Rameriz, and Tim Ball. Laura loved spending time riding motorcycles, camping, and fishing. Her grandchildren called her Nana. She loved spending her spare time reading with her puppy Julio by her side. Her pets (Julio and Chulo the cat) and her husband and best friend in life Jerry were her world since her illness took over these past five and a half years. She loved sitting outside on her deck watching the lake rise and fall with the sunrises and the sunsets. She lived her life to the fullest and she is loved by many. While at the lake she made close friends that we call family. A Memorial service will be at 2 pm, Monday, October 22, 2012 at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home in Del Rio, Texas.
