Celebration of Life for Donn E. Pepper, 86, of New Smyrna Beach, who peacefully went home to be with the Lord on October 14, 2012 will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, at Spruce Creek Baptist Church, 1952 Taylor Road, Port Orange. A gathering of friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Born in Mankato, Minnesota, Donn moved to Florida in 1987. He served in the United States Navy during WWII on board the USS LMS-481. Donn retired as a land surveyor after 35 years and was a Deacon at Spruce Creek Baptist Church. He worked for World Security in New Smyrna Beach, was a lifetime member of the Moose Club, NRA, VFW; a member of Citizens on Patrol for 13 years, Washington County Sheriffs Posse, Elks Club, American Legion Post 285 in Edgewater, BFFAR, SNPJ Lodge in Samsula, and past President of the Minnesota Land Surveyors. Donn donated to and was an honorary member of many other nonprofit organizations.
Survivors include his daughter, Callie Gatanis; 4 grandchildren, Nikkole, James, Abigail (Eugene) and Angelyna; 5 and a half great-grandchildren, Skyelar, Isaiah, Trynity, Domenyck, Patience, and Eugene, Jr.
Donn was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Thelma; and his two military sons, Jim and Terry.
