James C. West

James Curtis West was born on June 16, 1961 in Belle Glade, Florida to the late Oscar West Sr. and Eunice Wilson-West. Brother Oscar West Jr. also preceded him in death. James West was brought up in the city of Belle Glade, gaining his education from schools in The Palm Beach County School District. James was a devoted driver for Sunset Sod Incorporated of Miami, Florida for numerous years up until his health and strength began to decline. While not physically present he was still a part of Sunset Sod Inc. whom he sincerely called family until his passing. James was a member of Mt. Calvary First Baptist Church of South Bay, Florida. After joining he became a devoted member attending every Sunday his health would allow. James leaves to carry on his memory, Loving Daughter and Grandson: Brittney West and Curtis James Davis (Atlanta, Ga.), Mother: Eunice West (South Bay, FL), Sisters: Nettie Snead (Riviera Beach, FL.), Debra West, and Marion West-Butts (South Bay FL.), Brothers: Tony West (Lehigh Acres, FL.), and Kenneth West (Orlando, FL.) James held a special place for those he referred to as “his boys”: Eddie”Pig” Brown Jr. and Hosley “Shorty Man” Sanders, Special Friend: Lori Fowler, and a host of other relatives, church family and devoted friends. James life will continue to be a model of motivation and perseverance for the entire family. He had many battles throughout the course of his illness but never did he complain or question the work of God. He fought a good fight, although the battle was not his. His gleaming smile, humorous reenactments, and thought provoking conversations amidst Sunday dinner will truly be missed.

Viewing: Fri. 10/19/12 @ Mt. Calvary First Baptist Church, South Bay, FL From 5-7pm Funeral Service: Sat. 10/20/12 @ Mt. Calvary First Baptist Church, South Bay Fl@ 11am. Rev. R. Cooper-Pastor
