German Beltran Lopez, 83, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 in Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain.
He was born June 12, 1929 in Lares, Puerto Rico. German lived in Berlin Heights for two years before moving to Lorain in 1966. He retired from Lorain Ford Assembly Plant in 1995. He worked there for 28 years.
German was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain and the United Auto Workers Local 425 Lorain. He enjoyed his vegetable and flower gardens. He liked to maintain his home and was good at carpentry.
Among the survivors are his daughters, Mirta Beltran, of Lares, Rosa Beltran, of Belgium, Nilsa Beltran, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico and Lucy Beltran, of Camuy, Puerto Rico; son, German Beltran, of Millville, N.J.; sisters, Aurea Beltran, of Arecibo, Puerto Rico and Ana Beltran, of Bayamon and a brother, Luis Beltran of Carolina, Puerto Rico; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Robertson in 2004; his parents, Virgilio Beltran and Herminia Lopez and sisters, Josephina and Carmen Beltran.
His family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164, where his funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
