Willie Ross Jr. was born on August 20,1949 in New Madrid, MO to Hattie Ross-Grant and the late Willie Ross Sr. He was employed in the steel industry in St. Louis, MO for many years and later worked for Commerce Bank as a custodian.
Twenty-one years ago Willie was involved in a tragedy thatleft him permanently disabled. He relocated back to his home in Sikeston, MO, where his mother became his caregiver. Willie was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist church and spent most of his spare time at Keidra's Adult Daycare, a center he absolutely loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Hattie Grant, one daughter, Natasha Lofton of ST. Louis, MO, one son, Cedric Mitchell of Blytheville, AR, seven sisters, Rosie Gatlin, Mary Staples, Gloria(Willie) Sims, Violet Grant, and Kimberly Graham all of St. Louis, MO., Odia (Johnny) Silver of Raleigh, NC, Janet (Archie) Herron of Sikeston, MO, six brothers, Robert (Mary) Ross, Bonny (Joyce) Grant, Herman Grant, Calvin Grant Sr all of Sikeston, MO, Timothy (Karen) Grant and Greg (Kianna) Grant of San Antonio, TX. Six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Grant,.
