Ava Donahue Bolden was born on 9/30/1958 in Baton Rouge, LA to Yvonne Early Donahue and the late Woodrow Donahue. She died on 9/5/2012 at The Medical Center in Port Arthur.
Ava was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in Port Arthur by Pastor Rev. I. G. Gooden. Ava attended public schools in Port Arthur and while attending Lincoln High School, she also graduated from Stillwell Technical Center as a certified mechanic in 1976.
Ava was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Donahue, her brother, Earl Donahue, her nephew, Lee Arthur Green, and her grandparents.
Ava leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted mother, Yvonne Early Donahue Armstrong; three children, Barbara Donahue Smith (Nathaniel), David “Charlie” Donahue (Yvette), and Joshua Jimenez, of Port Arthur; sisters, Catherine Early Singleton of Sunset, LA, Lavonne Donahue Carter and Gwendolyn “Mama Gwen” Donahue of Port Arthur, and Lisa Donahue Sanders of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Coby, Candice, Isaac, and Angelique; one great-grandson; Godchild, Cornelius J. Green; a friend “Shine,” and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11:00am Saturday, September 15, 2012 at St. John Baptist Church, with visitation from 9 – 11am. Interment will be at Live Oak Memorial Park.
