U.S. Veteran

Thomas M. Tobin age 83 years died in the Blaire House in Milford, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 25, 1929, he was the son of the late James J. and Ann T. (Connolly) Tobin. Mr. Tobin proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. As a result of an injury during the war, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He has been a resident of Medway for the past 33 years moving there from East Walpole.

Mr. Tobin worked for the Boston Fire Department as a fire fighter in South Boston for 28 years. He retired in 1978.

He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Medway. He was also a member of the Purple Heart Association.

Mr. Tobin enjoyed being outdoors, especially riding horses and keeping up with his yard.

Beloved husband of the late Beverly A. (Moore) Tobin. Loving father of Barbara Masterson of Taunton, Tammy Tobin of West Medway, and the late Kathleen M. Tobin. Cherished grandfather of Thomas Moore and Shannon Soares and great grandfather of 4. Brother of James Tobin of Hull, Francis Tobin of Dedham, the late John Tobin, and the late Virginia Crockford. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church 176 Washington Street E. Walpole on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 4-7PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Memorial donations may be made to: Saint Jude's Children's Reseach Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
