Lebanon, NH – Francis N. Dulac, 97 died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at DHMC following a brief illness.
He was born in Wilder, VT on April 10, 1915 a son of Edmond and Marie Louise (Lafountain) Dulac and graduated from LaSalette Seminary in Enfield, NH class of 1933. On May 9, 1938 he married Lillian Marcotte of Lebanon, NH at Sacred Heart Parish who died 17 days after her beloved husband on October 23, 2012. He was maintenance supervisor at Lebanon Woolen Mill until its closing. Then he began working for the Thayer School of Engineering until his retirement.
Francis was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon; he was a lector, collector and served on the church counsel for many years, the Knights of Columbus for 73 years where he held state offices. He was appointed State Master of the 4th Degree from 1980-1982 and was also elected as Financial Advisor for many, many years and recently replaced in 2010. He was a local charter member of the B.P.O.E. Francis was a member of the Lebanon School Board for many years and served as Chairman and was a representative on the State Board of Education. He was also an honorary member of the Thayer School Engineering Society and a life time member of Dartmouth Society of Engineers. Francis was also a NH Deputy Sheriff for the Grafton County Sherriff’s Mounted Posse from its’ inception.
In his spare time, Francis enjoyed traveling, Sunday drives and working in his yard. He had a love of horses and was proud to own several horses throughout his adult life. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He was always smiling and was quick to lend a helping hand to those in need.
In 1964 he started Dulac’s Pool Service a full service pool company until his retirement in 1994. A business he ran with pride alongside his son John.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law Ted Minard and great-grandson Nathan Minard in 2010. He was also predeceased by his nine brothers Alphonse,Edmond, Edward, Alfred, Peter, Ephraim, Leon, Wilfred and Robert Dulac and one sister Emma Fizette.
He is survived by his daughter Jacqueline Minard of Lebanon; his sons Francis Dulac and wife Amereen of Deland Florida and John Dulac and Sybil Williams of Lebanon. He is also survived by eight grandchildren Ted Minard, Jim Minard, Tricia Minard, Frankie Dulac, Joel Dulac, Jason Dulac, Chris Dulac and Elizabeth Dulac and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 11 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2013 which would have been Francis and Lillian’s 75th wedding anniversary with burial following in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon.
