Constance E. Meyers, 85 of Shabbona, formerly of Genoa and Carpentersville, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center.
She was born July 20, 1927 in Mansfield, OH to Louis and Mary (Burns) Kithcart. Constance was a graduate of the Mansfield High School. She married Paul C. Meyers on Sept. 13, 1952 in Mansfield.
Constance was employed as a certified nurse's aide at Sherman Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Daughters of the Nile, Faith United Methodist Church in Genoa and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by 5 children, Paula (John) Skinner of Elk Mound, WI, Lawrence (Pam) Meyers of Renssalaer, IN, Mark (Kim) Meyers of Roanoke, VA, Walter (Deanna) Meyers of DeKalb, IL and Wendy (Paul) Harms of Genoa, IL; 14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in 1986, her parents; one son, William; one grandson, Joshua Skinner; and her sister, June Burkhart.
Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 11:00 AM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa, with Pastor Jim Allen of the Shabbona United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Elgin.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa.
