Curtis E. Vann, age 85, of Oak Hill, died Thursday, September 27 at home. Born in Oak Hill, Mr. Vann was a lifetime area resident, a commercial fisherman, and a member of Shady Grove Church of God, Oak Hill.

Survivors include 2 sons, Michael of Athens, Alabama, and Dale Sherrod of Jacksonville, North Carolina; a daughter, Abbie Naff of New Smyrna Beach; a brother, Jimmy Vann of Oak Hill; 3 grandchildren, Michelle Vann of Athens, Alabama, Curt Vann and Alena Wingerter, both of New Smyrna Beach; 6 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

His memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3 at Shady Grove Church of God, with Pastor Jimmy Burch III officiating.
