Mr. Joseph Anthony Calabrese, 47 of Concord Drive, Watertown passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma multiforme.
Joe was born in Waterbury on February 18, 1965, son of Italo “Frank” and Maria (D’Addona) Calabrese of Watertown. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and the Porter & Chester Institute with an ASE Certification and Specialty in Transmissions. He worked at Joe’s Transmission until 2001 and had been presently self employed as a transmission specialist until his illness.
Besides his parents, he leaves his sister, Anita Calabrese of Watertown, his niece, Brianna Vedder, his nephew, Dante Vedder and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and the wonderful nurses at VITAS for the wonderful care they provided to Joe.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held Saturday, 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to St. John the Evangelist Church, Watertown for a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at funeral home.
