Kingsport, TN – Georgia Berry “The voice of my beloved! Behold, he cometh, leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills!” – Song of Solomon 2:8 Mother heard the voice of her beloved! Georgia was lifted from her earthly house to a heavenly house on the shore of a glorious eternity. Death took her body, but Georgia has been delivered from bodily illness and from all the afflictions and sorrows of this life. The days of her mourning have ended and God has wiped away all of her tears. Georgia is now swallowed up in life, with Christ. Georgia was born March 22, 1916, in Scott County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Bob Berry and Mary A. Hood. She lived her entire life in the local area and was homemaker. She loved to cook and bake for all her family and friends. Georgia was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jake Berry; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Berry; granddaugther, Diana Berry. Survivors of Georgia Berry include 2 daughters, Judy Pendleton (Kingsport, TN), Geraldine Stumbo (Scott County, VA); 4 sons, Lennis Berry (Blountville, TN), Wallace Berry and wife Rose (Church Hill, TN), Dennis Berry and wife Gail (Kingsport, TN), Lee R. Berry and wife Kuby (Pikeville, TN); 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. The family of Georgia Berry will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home (Weber City, VA). A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Elder Lewis Baker, Elder Frank Gilliam, and Elder Wally Berry officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Holston View Cemetery (Weber City, VA). Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Colonial Funeral Home by 12:15 p.m. to go to the cemetery in procession. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
