Domingo Garcia Lopez Jr, 57, of Midland, passed away on Sunday September 16, 2012 at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 9, 1955 in San Angelo, TX to Cecilia G. Lopez and the late Domingo R. Lopez, I. He is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School; Domingo moved to Kerrville, and then to Austin where he worked for Randalls Supermarket for many years, upon retiring he moved to San Antonio and for the last year and a half he has resided in Midland, TX to be close to his family. Mingo was a meat cutter by trade and a deer processor during hunting season. He enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, sitting by the poolside and going to the lake and entertaining family and friends. Mingo was a volunteer in Austin for Meals on Wheels, Hurricane Katrina Relief and also sponsored a family of refugees by housing them in his apartment. He would often pick up refugee families, taking them to dinner at their favorite place to eat, if he saw they needed clothes he would take them shopping. Mingo also showed his generosity by cooking great amounts of food and sharing it with his co-workers. Our beloved Dad, you will always be remembered as a loving, caring, generous grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his father Domingo Lopez I, and his son Eric Lopez.

He is survived by his two sons Domingo Lopez III and wife Diana of Harlingen, TX; Noel Lopez and wife Doreen of Midland, TX; his three daughters, Jennifer Valencia and husband Arthur of Goldthwaite,TX; Melissa Lopez and Maribel Lopez and husband John Richard all of Midland, TX; his two brothers Polo Lopez and wife Delma of Midland, TX; Jerry Lopez of Dallas, TX; his three sisters, Julia Olgin and husband Adolfo; Monica Sosa and Linda Quiroz and husband Eulogio all of Midland,TX; and his mother Cecilia Lopez of Midland, TX; thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday September 20, 2012 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. No Graveside services will be held.
