Posey, Geraldine Agatha Gray (Age 78) of (Pisgah) Indian Head, Maryland.
Geraldine Agatha Posey was born to Charles and Annie Gray on October 15, 1933 in the District of Columbia. Out of this reunion they had a large family of siblings namely: Charles, Earl, Joseph, Francis, Reginald, Alton, Juliana, Nellie, and Rocksy. She was married to the late Clifford Q. Posey Sr. and out of this reunion they had a family of children namely: Clifford Q. Posey Jr., Francis C. Posey, and Patricia A. Posey (Washington).
Geraldine A. Posey attended Charles County Public School system, graduating from Pomonkey High School in 1951. Geraldine began her career in the federal government as an explosive worker. She later retired from the federal government and began to work within the Charles County Board of Education as a bus attendant.
Geraldine A. Posey dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Indian Head, MD. She was an active member and faithfully and diligently carried out the works and the mission of the church.
Some of her hobbies consisted of bingo, creating ceramics, shopping, playing pool, and pokeno. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and volunteering at the Senior Citizens Community Center. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She always brought a smile to others through her wonderful sense of humor and personal jokes.
Peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at her home in Pisgah, Maryland. Geraldine A. Posey, transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal.
In addition to her children and sister, she leaves to cherish five grandchildren: Tiffany, Cornell, Kiana, Quinston, and Derek, five great-grandchildren: Jayden, Cameron, Caiden, Asijah, and Langston, Son-in-law: Michael, and Daughter-in-law: Lynn; many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends who were all made to feel they had a special place in Geraldine’s heart.
Viewing, 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30am on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 30 Mattingly Avenue, Indian Head, Maryland. Interment, Maryland Veteran Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
