Sheri L. Hixenbaugh

Sheri L. (Brink) Hixenbaugh, 46, of Centralia died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Friendship House in Centralia surrounded by family.

She was born April 14, 1966, in Peoria, daughter of Jerry and Diana (Yocum) Brink. She married Danny Hixenbaugh on March 1, 2006, in Mt. Vernon, and he survives her in Centralia.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hixenbaugh is survived by her mother, Diana Brink of Centralia; grandmother, Stella Yocum of Pekin; a son, Matthew Ryan Bratthauar of Murray, Ky.; a daughter, Gwendolyn Kay Bratthauar of Salt Lake City; a sister, Lisa Brink Maxey and husband James; an uncle, George D. Yocum and wife Cindy of Pekin; a niece, Kaitlin Maxey; several other nieces and nephews; and three cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandmother, Georgia Brink; grandfathers, Wilbert Brink and George Yocum; great-grandparents, Bessie and Guy Dunbar; and an uncle, Rick Yocum.

Mrs. Hixenbaugh was the owner of The Coffee Pot Cafe and the Centralia Cab Company. She was a 1984 graduate of Centralia High School. She was very involved with sending care packages to service men and women on holidays and other special occasions. She enjoyed making crafts and spending time with her family and friends.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home. Hillcrest Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of the arrangements.
