Mrs. Clara Alice Haeffner, 87, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Mercy Hospital, Creve Coeur, Missouri.

Mrs. Haeffner was born in Hermann, Missouri on January 12, 1925, the daughter of the late George and Bertha (Harms) Kunz.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, Missouri.

She worked at Frene Valley Health Center as a kitchen helper doing various duties from helping the cooks and cleaning. She was also a clerk at Kroger Store in St. Charles, Mo, and worked for Walkenbach Store, IGA and Steven's Toy Mfg.

She enjoyed the company of animals, watching Cardinal baseball, country music shows, taking trips to Branson, doing seek and find puzzles, volunteering at the German School Museum and being with family and friends.

She was the widow of Harvey W. Haeffner. They were married August 21, 1960 at Hermann, MO, he passed away May 14, 1994.

She is survived by a daughter Dianna J. and husband Gerry L. Starke of Hermann, a brother William and wife Kathleen Kunz of New Haven, a sister-in-law Shirley Kunz of Hermann, a brother-in-law Richard Pratt of New Haven, by her grandson Bret Starke of Hermann and two great granddaughters Baylee and Marisa Starke of Hermann. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers George & Raymond Kunz and one sister Helen Pratt.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri with Pastor Darrel Deeker officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri.

Burial will be in the Hermann Cemetery, Hermann, Missouri.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul U.C.C. or Germann School Museum.
