Floyd R. Burns, 84, passed away on August 17, 2012. He was born in Deshler, Ohio on July 16, 1928. He was a master carpenter who loved bowling, golf and crossword puzzles. Floyd was a Sergeant in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was twice Commander of the Wauconda American Legion Post 911 and active in the Wauconda Moose Lodge #1969. He had been enjoying a partial retirement in Florida, until his recent health challenges brought him back to Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his wives, JoAnn and Virginia and survived by his companion of 15 years, Marie Estacion. He is further survived by one brother Donald (Jean) Goebelt.

He is the loving father to 5 adoring children: daughters Donna (Barry) Anthony and Karen LaFournier, sons Scott, Eric (Laury) and Rick Burns. His loving grandchildren are Josh (Lisa) Burns, Jessica (John) Shaw, Samantha Burns, Lauren (Josh) Wainwright, Dan (Emily) Burns and Cassi Burns. He also has 2 great-grandchildren Ashton and Caleb Shaw.

Services will be held at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda. Visitation will be held on September 2nd from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 noon. Inurnment will be private.
