Heflin, LA – Mack “MM” Davis, 88 years old, went to be with his Lord on August 17, 2012. Visitation will be held at Rockett Funeral Home on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 20, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Ringgold, LA. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. Mr. Davis was born on April 29, 1924 and grew up in Heflin, LA graduating from Ringgold High School. He was a war veteran, serving in the Army in the World War II. Returning home and living in Shreveport, LA, he worked for and retired after 38 years of service from the Shreveport Transit Co. as a trolley and bus driver. Upon retiring, he returned to his family homesteaded land in Heflin, LA where he raised cattle, farmed, and enjoyed the “country life”. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, W.B. Davis and Ethel Hardy and his wife Rosemary. He is survived by his daughter, Dianna L. Roark and husband Larry and his son, David M. Davis and wife Darlene; brothers and sisters, Douglas Davis, Melba Moore, Mary Jean Perot and Jimmy Davis. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Craig Roark, Roger Dale Moore, Drew Moore, Buddy Light, Mike Boudreaux, and Clarence “Bud” Mason. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of The Arbor of Bossier, caregivers of LSUSMC and NurseCare. Special thanks to Dr. Jonathon Davis and his staff.
