QUEENSBURY --- Beatrice Elizabeth “Bea” Bevins, 89, passed away Wednesday evening, August 15, 2012, surrounded by family members at The Pines in Glens Falls. Born April 2, 1923 in Thurman, she was the daughter of the late James and Ada Russell of Thurman, NY. She was predeceased by her first husband, Leroy Williams, and four of their sons: James, AF Pvt. 3C Thomas Williams, Paul “Peter”, and Mark Williams, all of whom grew up on the Corinth Road. She is survived by her husband of approximately 47 years, Guy Bevins of Queensbury, NY. “Bea” was a Sunday school teacher and church organist for the Baptist Church on Main Street. She loved the hymns and trusted God in good times or bad. She was a wonderful person who deeply loved family and friends. She was genuine and blessed with a heart full of kindness. She enjoyed music, raising her children, Guy’s cooking and gardens, fresh cut flowers, garage saleing, antiques and doll collecting. Bea taught her grandchildren how to play horseshoes and took them bowling. She and Guy were snowbirds living in Kissimmee, Florida during wintry weather. In recent years, she relived her childhood memories of fishing her father’s pond, riding in Aunt Emma’s model T Ford, and picking berries on Crane Mountain. Bea cherished the memories of her parents and 1st family. More survivors cherishing Bea’s memory are one son, David D. Williams with wife, Peggy, of Glens Falls, their son, David T. Williams with wife, Julie, and a daughter, Lucy, all of Schuylerville, NY. Dave and Peggy’s daughter is Ginger Lynn Juliano with husband, Joseph, and their two children, Justin and Gabriella, all of Westport, Conn. Bea’s son Paul’s children are Lisa Williams of Waterford and Frank Williams of South Glens Falls. Bea is also survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Williams of Thurman and her three children: William McGovern Jr. with companion, Stacey Lafountain, of Glens Falls, and his son, Matthew, Patricia Smith with husband, Jeff, of Queensbury, and her son, Gage Fuller, and Daniel McGovern of Saratoga Springs, NY; a stepson, Forest Bevins with wife, Donna, and children Nicholas and Sarah of Queensbury; a stepdaughter, Beverly Croteau with husband, Rhett, and her children Daniel Shipski and Matina Shipski. Bea is also survived by a long line of loving nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Hermann, pastor of Thurman Baptist Church, officiating.
