Viola A. Schwartz

Schwartz, Viola A. of Bay City, Michigan passed away Friday afternoon July 27, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 92 years. She was born March 22, 1920 in Buena Vista Township. She was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and was a longterm member of the Ladies Aid where she served as president and secretary, Viola graduated from Bay City Central High School, and attended one year at Bay City Business College. She worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. for ten years as a secretary and service representative and a secretary at Delta College for seven years. She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law; Joann and Michael Erickson of Commerce Township, MI, and Connie and Joe Jeffers of San Angelo, TX, and two grandchildren; Ashley Erickson and Michael Erickson, one brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Elmer and Gert Schwartz, and her nieces and nephews. On February 4, 1945, she married Floyd William Schwartz and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1995 She was also preceded in death by one son; Robert Schwartz, her parents; Albert and Johanna (Hartl) Schnettler and one sister; Alaura Thompson, and two brothers; Henry and Arthur Schnettler Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Mrs. Schwartz will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial cards will be available for St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church or the donor’s favorite charity.
