Memorial Services for Robert “Bob” Stenersen 83 years of age will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012, at Jones & Casey Funeral Home with Fr. Chase Hasenoehrl officiating. Military Honors provided by Idaho Honor Guard and American Legion Lloyd Shaw Post #67. Inurnment will be at the Gibbonsville Cemetery, Gibbonsville, Idaho. Arrangements made by Jones & Casey Funeral Home.
Robert Brent Stenersen, passed away at his home of forty-nine years on Thursday, July 19, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family. “Bob” was born June 12, 1929 at the Stenersen Ranch in North Fork, Idaho. He was the third of four children born to Dora and Andrew Stenersen.
Bob attended grade school at Fourth of July Creek and graduated from Salmon High School in 1947. After graduation, he drove truck for Fred Rose, but in 1951, he and his best friend, Leslie, “Scoop” Aldous joined the navy. Following the navy in 1959, he met and married the love of his life, Anita Hays. Their union was blessed with four devoted and respectful children.
Bob was an honest, hard-working man who after several years of service for the State Highway Department, transferred to the Idaho Fish and Game where he retired in 1992. After retirement, Bob and Anita were able to travel south, to make new friends, and to enjoy each other’s company for the last twenty years.
Bob lived a fulfilled and blissful life hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family. He was happiest with a fishing rod in his hand or a grandchild by his side. His honor and strength were immeasurable. He will be greatly missed by his beautiful and faithful wife, Anita; his children, Brent (Penny) Stenersen, Rob Stenersen, Cathy (Rensay) Owen, John (Colette) Stenersen; grandchildren Shanelle (Kelley), Kelsey, and Tyler Stenersen, Parker Stenersen, Chase and Cole Owen; great-grandchildren Tristan and Kennedy (Kelley); and a brother, Alfred J. (Barbara) Stenersen.
Bob is preceded in death by his precious granddaughter, Morgin Torrey Stenersen; his parents and two sisters, Lili Scoble and Jenny Herman.
