Elfriede "Friede" Huffman, age 83, a resident of Macomb Township, Michigan died on Monday, July 23, 2012 at McLaren Macomb, MI. She was born on January 26, 1929 in Germany to the late Karl and Lena (Schneider) Feix. On December 18, 1950 in Weisbaden, Germany she was united in marriage to Daniel Herbert Huffman. This December, they would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Huffman was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her family. Her husband commented how “She was a hard worker and always kept the family home spic and span.” She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. She could often be found passing the time by working on a jigsaw puzzles, a hobby she thoroughly enjoyed.

She is survived by her husband Daniel, five children; Monika (Charles) Redinger of Macomb Twp., Carl (Karen) Huffman of Tennessee, Michael Huffman of Macomb Twp., Lorna Carroll of New York, Daniel (Denise) Huffman of Clinton Twp., MI, sister Ellen (Wilfred) Zehner of Germany, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings; Kurt and Erika.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:00a.m. in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mount Clemens with the Rev. William Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly Twp., MI.
