of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the age of 74. Bernice was an immaculate seamstress and was known to her sewing buddies as "The Sewlady". She was precious to her family and was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt anyone could ask for. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jasper and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Nyota Chapter 248 O.E. S. of Warrior, Alabama.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Alan Beasley will officiate, Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.

Mrs. Shugart was preceded in death by her Father-Carter Winnett; Mother-Clara Mae Sharritt Winnett; Sister-Martha Jane Winnett.

She is survived by her Husband-Abie Foster Shugart, Jr.; Son-Donald (Ann) Shugart; Daughter-Keslie (Timothy) Woods; Brothers-Amos (Judy) Winnett, Morris (Reba) Winnett, Horace (Sue) Winnett; Sister-Velma Mikell; Granddaughters-Katie Shugart and Emily Woods; Grandson-Spencer Woods; Special Sister-Sheila (Ricky) Gregory; Host of Nieces, Nephews and Sewing Friends.
