Joan A. Andrejczyk, 81, of 64 Bigelow Gardens, formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in UMass-Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.
She leaves a sister, Helen M. Syria, of Lancaster; a sister-in-law, Carolyn B. Andrejczyk of Clinton; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William S. Andrejczyk, who died in 1983, and her sister, Bertha A. O’Toole, who died in 1997.
Born and raised in Clinton, daughter of Stanley and Mary (Dobrowolska) Andrejczyk, Joan was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1949. She remained a resident of Green St. in Clinton until moving to Lancaster in 1994.
For 16 years until its closing, Joan worked at the former Colonial Press of Clinton. She then worked at Ray-O-Vac, formerly of Clinton, until its closing, at which time she began working at the Ames Ware House in Clinton, retiring in 1993.
A member of Immaculate Conception Parish and a life-long member of the former Our Lady of Jasna Gora Church, Joan was also a former member of the Polish American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Bingo player, and enjoyed time spent in the company of her loving family.
Joan’s funeral will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Main St., Lancaster. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour at the funeral home on Saturday morning, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., prior to the funeral Mass.
