It is with great sadness that on July 6, 2012 after a short illness we said goodbye to our husband, father and friend, Garry Thomas Grotewold.
Garry dedicated his life and his love to his family – wife Jan, daughter Brandy, his mother Lee and step-daughters, Beth and Susan and the many “kids” of his heart; his “extended” family from California, Michigan and Arizona.
Grotewold, 56 of Yucaipa CA spent his entire life in service to our country first as a member of the United States Air Force, then serving as a Maricopa County Sherriff and Good Year Officer. After completing U.S. Border Patrol training he became a Deputy US Marshal.
He retired from the U.S. Marshal Service as a Supervisory Deputy after 28 years of service.
Garry, along with daughter Brandy, pursued one of his personal favorite interests when they studied Kenpo Karate a martial art form. Garry proudly earned a 1st degree black belt in January 2007.
He will be remembered as one hell of a poker player too.
Thank You Garry for the special way you touched each and every one of our lives.
You will be forever missed and forever in our hearts.
A memorial service to honor Garry will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel 703 Brookside Ave Redlands CA 92373 at 11:00 am.
