Carl H. Lilljedahl, Jr., age 84, a former longtime resident of Milton, passed away on May 16, 2012 at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Born November 10, 1927 in Lynn, Massachuetts, a son of Carl H. and Dorothy C. (Varney) Lilljedahl, Sr., he grew up on a dairy farm in West Milton, New Hampshire and was a graduate of Nute High School in Milton. He resided the past ten years in Bonita Springs, Florida.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the United States Army from 1952-1958, which included three years in Europe. He obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class and was an instructor for the Fixed Bridge Section, Department of Engineering. During his service, he received the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged.
Carl is survived by his three children: Donald W. Lilljedahl of Pittsfield, NH, Denise A. (Lilljedahl) Phillips of Rochester, NH and Robert A. Lilljedahl of Amelia Court House, VA, a brother Robert Lilljedahl of New Durham, NH and a sister Shirley Lilljedahl of Estero, FL, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Thelma I. Lilljedahl in 1996.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 am at Emmanuel Church, 34 Eastern Avenue in Rochester, NH. Urn interment will be at Hayes Cemetery in West Milton. To express condolences, please visit: www.peasleefuneralhome.com
