Nancy Jane Blazo

Nancy Jane (Rood) Blazo, age 67, of Chesaning, passed away Friday, June 29th, 2012 at Genesys Health Park in Grand Blanc Twp. A memorial mass will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 5th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Chesaning with a luncheon following the service. Final rest will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Oakley.

Nancy was born in Owosso, Michigan on June 11, 1945, the daughter of the late Frederick and Leona (Rathbun) Rood. She married Robert Blazo at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Oakley in 1963. Nancy was an active member of Memorial Healthcare Hospice. She showed great compassion and care for many people and their families as they worked through their difficult times. Nancy was also President of the Chesaning Area Arts Association. She owned her own business, Nancy's Kut-n-Kurl and retired from her profession in the early 90's, however, she still maintained a close relationship with her previous clients.

Those who cherish her memory include: husband, Bob; children, Bob Blazo, Tami Volway, Tom (Becky) Blazo; grandchildren, Rachel Flynn, Scott Volway, Samantha Blazo, Tanner Blazo, Olina Hetych, Ethan Hetych, Gabe Walters; great grandchildren, Avery Flynn, Olivia Flynn, Morgan Bradley; two sisters, Sharon Sjaaheim, Joanne Luchenbill; and brother, Les Rood.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Ann Blazo at age 2 months; parents Joe and Leona Nechvil; four brothers, Tom Rood, Rick Rood, John Rood and Dennis Rood.

Memorials are suggested to Memorial Healthcare Hospice.
