Gloria Fae Erickson

Gloria Fae Erickson, 84, of Griswold passed away from natural causes on Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab in Atlantic. Preceding her in death were her parents, her son Scott, her sister Maureen Casey, and her husband.

On February 17, 1928, she was born the daughter of Fay and Alice (Neer) Robinson in Griswold. Gloria lived her whole life in Griswold. She graduated from Griswold High School with the class of 1946. On February 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to Richard Kenneth Erickson at the Central Church of Christ.

She was a homemaker and more. She took teaching classes from Iowa Normal College (at Ames) and became a substitute teacher for Griswold Schools. She played in the American Contract Bridge League and became an accomplished player. After her children were raised, she became the clerk for the City of Griswold. She was also a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son Larry Erickson (and his wife, Rita) of Council Bluffs, her granddaughter Kristin Kay Anderson (and her husband Courtney and thier children Whitney and Wesley) of Waukee, her granddaughter Rebecca Ann Randall (and her husband Bryan) of Waukee, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church in Griswold with a lunch to follow in the church fellowship hall. No visitation is planned. A private family burial will be held at Flint Cemetery.
