Ruth Evelyn “Baby” Avila, 89, of Blanchard, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Chickasha. The daughter of Della Mae (Coggins) and John Benjamin Morris, she was born April 3, 1923 in Hollis, Oklahoma. She enjoyed yard work, gardening, rodeos, and dancing.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred “Al” Avila, Jr.; daughter, Connie Matthews; four brothers; and two sisters.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Darrell Miles and wife Carol of California and Warren Elam and wife Brenda of Blanchard; daughter, Pat Thompson of Dibble; step-sons, Ricky Avila of Hawaii and Marvin Avila of Arizona; step-daughter, Lelona Avila of Hawaii; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Chapman of Blanchard, Cora Settle and husband Derrell of Blanchard, and Deanna Roberts of Maysville; and many other loved ones and friends.
