Murphy Nolan King

Funeral services for Mr. Murphy Nolan King will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in Lake Cove Baptist Church with Reverends Ervin Goodman and David Messer officiating. Interment will follow in McCormick Cemetery, Turkey Creek under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mr. King, 61, of Lake Cove entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in his residence.

Nolan loved his family and friends. He was a roofer for forty years. He loved to hunt, fish, garden, listen to music and just be outdoors. Everyone loved his cooking; he could make a mean gravy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy and Maude King; one sister, Kathy Robinson and one brother, Elvin Lee King.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-one years, Patsy King of Lake Cove; one son - Luke King of Lake Cove; two daughters - Gretna Bloodsworth and her husband, Rocky of Pitkin and Rita Deville and her husband, Shane of Turkey Creek; five brothers - Lonnie King and his wife, Marketa of Lake Cove, Lester “Mack” King and his wife, Sherry of Lake Cove, Arlen King and his wife, Debbie of Pine Prairie, Leslie Ray “Pee Wee” King of Pine Prairie and Donnie King and his wife, Lynn of Glenmora. and four sisters - Shirley Hebert and her husband, Cloyde of Beaver Creek, Elvie Fuselier of Pine Prairie, Bernice Ardoin and her husband, Teddy of Pine Prairie and Rachel Anthony and her husband, Ray of Pollock. He is also survived by nine grandchildren – Tavia Bloodsworth, Lonzie Bloodsworth, Channing Bloodsworth, Zackery Deville, Holden Deville, Jacob Deville, Erica King, Haiden King and Jada King; two great grandchildren, Wyatt Mancil and Mika Fontenot and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Cody King, Channing Bloodsworth, Holden Deville, Patrick Littleton, Danny Littleton and D. H. Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Reed and Phillip King.

Friends may call at Lake Cove Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until time of service on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may post online messages of condolence for the King family by visiting www.rushfh.com
