Clarence Richard McMahan

Zenith,WV - Clarence Richard McMahan age 77 of Lindside, WV passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012 at his home. A lifelong resident of Monroe County he was born June 17, 1934 in the Back Valley area of Zenith. He was the son of the late Clarence Ledlow “Low” and Ruth Ann Cole McMahan Bennett. He spent his entire career working at sawmills, timbering and farming. He enjoyed his four wheeler, fishing and his canine companion, Sissy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Clarence Ledlow McMahan, Jr. Survivors include two daughters; Joyce Wilson and husband Russell of Willow Bend, Lisa Wallace and husband Orville of Lindside, and their mother Carol McMahan of Lindside; four siblings, Frances Amos and husband Charlie of Rock Camp, Bobby L. McMahan and wife Patricia of Zenith, Betty Carter and husband Noah, and Jerry McMahan and wife Patricia all of Rock Camp; one grandson, John Beaumont “Beau” Morefield of White Sulphur Springs, two granddaughters, Carol “Ann” Wallace and Amber Lea Wallace both of Lindside; two step grandsons, Kurt and Brandon Wilson of Mountain City, TN, and one step great grandson, Ethan Reid Wilson of Mountain City, TN. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV., with Pastor Paul Broyles and Obie Dupree officiating. Friends may call from 5:30 P.M. until time of services Tuesday. Committal services and burial will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Fortner Cemetery, Rock Camp, WV. The family suggests donations of sympathy be made to the Monroe County Animal League, P.O. Box 343, Union, WV 24983. Howard Amos, Chris Ratliff, John “Beau” Morefield, Steve Ellison, and Dalford McMahan will serve as pallbearers; Bobby G. Mann, Dall Kanode, Russell Wilson, brothers-in-law, Charlie Amos, and Noah Carter, officers Heller and Porterfield, and the Union Rescue Responders will serve as honorary pallbearers.
