Newmarket – Lynda A. Criss, 70, of Pond Street died May 28, 2012 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a brief struggle with cancer.
Born February 7, 1942 in Haverhill, MA, she was the daughter of Napoleon "Jeff" Gelinas and Beatrice (Godbout) Gelinas.
Lynda grew up in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School.
She worked for B & M Railroad, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Newmarket Dispatch, Rockingham Dispatch, and she was a bailiff at Rockingham County Court House. She retired in September from Portsmouth Family Court after 12 years. Lynda loved her grandchildren and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Steve Criss of Newmarket; 3 children, Jeff Criss and his wife Sandie and their two boys Kyle and Michael of Raymond, Jennifer Palasciano and her husband Edward and their two daughters Alexa and Riley of Newmarket, and Stephanie Criss and her fiancé Colin James of Nottingham.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 12:30 p.m. at the Newmarket Community Church, Main Street, Newmarket.
