Louise Marie Lilly

Louise Marie (Barber) Lilly, age 93, of Beckley, went home to be with her Lord and savior on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Heartland of Beckley following an extended illness.

Born July 29, 1918, in Vivian, WV, to the late Albert “Babe” Barber and Pearl Lawson Barber.

Mrs. Lilly was a homemaker and her hobby was making quilts. She was also of the Primitive Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Hugh C. Lilly; and a son Murphy Lee Lilly; brothers Frank, Carl, Albert, Roy, Jim, and Joe Barber; and sisters Rachel Nixon, Lucy Smith, and Lee Austin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Patti L. Moye of Beckley; sons Naaman H. Lilly and wife Rebecca of Glen Jean, and Michael Shane Horton of Slab Fork; brother Jack Barber and wife Gloria of Ghent; sisters Amma Lee Farley of Tazewell, VA, Betty McCann and husband Bill of Bluefield, VA, and Shirley Elkins and husband Robert of Beckley; two granddaughters Patricia Horton and husband Michael Slab Fork, and Karen Arbaugh of Slab Fork; grandsons Robert Lilly and wife Sherry of Virginia; and also three great-grandsons, Justin and Cody Lilly, and Michael Horton.

A celebration of Mrs. Lilly’s life will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Peace Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Jack Barber officiating.

Interment will follow at the Lilly Family Cemetery on Hugh Lilly Road in Flat Top.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
