Wayne Linwood Barney

Wayne Linwood Barney, 56, of Ferdinand, VT passed away May 1, 2012 at his home. He was born December 24, 1955 in Island Pond, VT a son of Linwood and Beulah (Darnell) Barney. Wayne formerly was employed by Ethan Allen MFG of Island Pond. He was a member of Brighton Baptist Church in Island Pond. He loved to read his bible, going to church and singing in the choir. He enjoyed helping people in need. He is survived by his brother Rev. Roland “Butch” Barney and his wife Jocelyne of Island Pond, VT, by his two sisters: Wanda Ovitt and her husband Alan of Lithia Springs, GA, and Goldie Buffi of Brownington, VT, and by his nieces and nephews: Bernard Barney of Hartford, CT, Cynthia Bowen of Dalton, GA, Terrie Ann Walker of Simi Valley, CA, Robert Leigh of Carrolton, GA, Shawnda O’Keefe and her husband Roger of Ferdinand, VT, Frankie Lee Buffi of Brownington, VT, Lance Buffi of Brownington, VT, and by a great nephew Jacob O’Keefe of Ferdinand, VT and by 5 other great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Leon Barney and his brother-in-law Frank Buffi. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday May 5, 2012 at the Brighton Baptist Church in Island Pond with the Pastor Roland Barney and Rev. Alan Ovitt co-officiating. Interment will be held at the Lakeside Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the funeral at the Brighton Baptist Church. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to the Ronald Holland Dialysis Center, in care of North Country Hospital, 189 Prouty Drive, Newport, VT 05855.
