William Marion Causey, age 72, a resident of Florala, Alabama, passed away in a Crestview hospital, Thursday, April 26, 2012.
A native of Dothan, Alabama he was the son of the late Hershal and Howard Chancey Causey. Marion graduated from Florala High School and later was employed with VETRO Corporation for 13 years. He was a member of the Alabama National Guard and was Readness NCO at Company C, 1st BN, 131 Armor, a position he held for 27 years. He retired after serving 42 Years on February 6, 2000. He was recognized by Governor Fob James and Governor Don Sigleman for service to the State of Alabama during this time. He served his community in many ways, at high school sporting events at basketball games and on City of Florala Utility Board. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially bird hunting. Always on the go, he enjoyed many trips with his good friend JB Clary. Marion was never to busy to help a friend.
Survivor are his loving wife of 35 years, Barbara Pouncy Causey, daughter, Jennifer Marie Hammac and husband Jason of Florala, brother, Bo Causey and wife Gladyne of Moss Point, MS, 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Lindsay and Heather, mother-in-law Sybil Pouncey, Florala and friend, JB Clary, Florala, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alicia.
Funeral services 3PM Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Raymond Williams, Reverend John White and Reverend Eugene Meadows officiating. Interment in the Florala Greenwood Cemetery with Full Military Honors at graveside.
