William “Buck” DeOrnellis, Sr., 80, of Mexico, MO, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012 at a Columbia hospital.
Mr. DeOrnellis was born on December 29, 1931 to Theodore and Minnie (Gregg) DeOrnellis in Stoutsville, MO. He married Elizabeth Smith on September 7, 1962 in Mexico, MO where they still reside. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of the home; three daughters; Debra (Larry) Johnson, Melody (David) Cross and Tina DeOrnellis, all of Mexico, MO; one son; Bill DeOrnellis of Mexico, MO; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers; Tom DeOrnellis of Centralia, MO, Orville “Kurt” DeOrnellis of Texas and Lloyd DeOrnellis of Paris, MO; one sister, Ruth Hughes of Paris, MO and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters, a daughter, Anna Louise and a grandson, Jerry Dean Johnson.
Mr. DeOrnellis worked at Kaiser Refactories, in Mexico, MO, for 27 years. He, also, worked for Simmon Stables for 10 years and MMA for 10 years. He enjoyed working, fishing, taking care of horses and talking with people. He was a hard worker and will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held on at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Reverend Wesley Hammond officiating.
Agnew Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
