Funeral service Saturday, March 24, 2012 @ 11:00 A.M. at Mary Evergreen Baptist Church, Grand Cane, Louisiana Burial in Church Cemetery Quiet Hour Friday, March 23, 2012 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. @ Mary Evergreen Baptist Church

Coach Fred Bell Carter Fred “June Bug” Bell Carter, 64, transitioned peacefully from this life on Monday, March 19, 2012, with his loving wife and sons by his side. Family and friends hour will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. at Mary Evergreen Baptist Church, Grand Cane, Louisiana. The Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Mary Evergreen Baptist Church in Grand Cane, Louisiana with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Coach Carter was a member and deacon at Mary Evergreen Baptist Church. A loving and devoted husband and father, his family was truly the light of his life. He coached football at Mansfield High School from 1994 – 1998 and was an Administrator’s Assistant until 2009. Mr. Carter coached football at Logansport High School for many years, and served as Building Facilitator at Mansfield Middle School (Pre-K through 8) until his departure. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of forty-one and one half years, Bettie Jean Carter; sons, Marcus Fred (Tess) Carter of Shreveport, Louisiana and Tony Lynn (Stephanie) Carter of Marshall, Texas; three brothers, Charles Ray (Betty Joyce) Carter of Baton Rouge, LA; Michael Lynn (Vanessa) Carter of Dallas, TX and Curtis Marino (Nett) Carter of Mansfield, LA; seven sisters, Diane Richards, Bennie Mae Odum, Naomi Haley, Elizabeth (james) Hudson, Irish Marie (Robert) Smith, Terrance “Terry” (James, Sr.) Hudson, and Hattie (Harold) Maxie all of Mansfield, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ethel Lee Carter, and by a sister, Carolyn Faye Carter. The family expresses gratitude to all of his caregivers.
