Richard C. Anderson Sr.

Richard Calvin Anderson Sr., 57, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 in South Bend, Indiana. He was born on January 15, 1955 in South Bend, Indiana to the union of Calvin and Alberta Anderson. He attended Washington High School and graduated in 1973. He was a member of the basketball team at Washington and enjoyed other school activities. He continued his education at Purdue University for one year.  He was actively employed at Kroger (on Ireland Road) for 38 years. He very much enjoyed making movies, playing basketball and just having a good time. He lived life to the fullest.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory are two sons: Avery C. Brown of Buchanan, Michigan and Richard C. Anderson Jr. of South Bend; three sisters, Delores Anderson of South Bend, Indiana, Helen (J.W.) Heard of Chicago, Illinois, Debbie (Hilrie) Campbell of Paducah, Kentucky; a brother, Roger Johnson of California; five grandchildren: Lexus Smith, Richard Washington, Nyricia Anderson, Tre’Sonn Statzer and Mariah Anderson; nieces and nephews: Nikki Baker, Walter Wilbourn, Jerome Heard, Brian Keith, Krystle Heard, Aaron Campbell and Josh Campbell; great-nieces: Lee’Chell Wilbourn and Chel’Lee Wilbourn; stepmother, Bettye Carter; along with a host of other relatives, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Alberta Anderson; and a nephew, Corey Campbell.

Funeral services for Richard Calvin Anderson Sr. will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 in Clark-O’Neal Funeral Home Inc., 2702 Lincoln Way West. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and then services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
