Barbara Streich Goodson

Barbara Jean Streich Goodson, 77, passed away Thursday February 9, 2012, at Monroe City Manor in Monroe City, MO. The former Pattonsburg and Jameson resident lived with her daughter in Monroe City for the past year as she battled poor health. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 13th at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin, MO. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. There will be no burial service as cremation will follow. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice in care of McWilliams Funeral Home.

Barbara was born June 23, 1934, to Edward and Wilma (Worley) Becker in Gallatin, MO. She married Russell P. Streich in 1954. He preceded her in death. She later married Charles Goodson of Peoria, Arizona, in 2005. Barbara was a graduate of Jameson High School in Jameson, MO. She worked at various occupations throughout her career, including as a copy artist for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, department store sales clerk, bank teller, and licensed insurance staff at Cameron Mutual Insurance in Gallatin, MO. She served as City Clerk and later mayor of the city of Jameson, MO., until she moved to Pattonsburg.

After she retired, Barbara enjoyed basket weaving, caning chairs, and watercolor painting. She was an avid gardener all her life. She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Russell Streich, and a brother, James R. Becker.

Barbara is survived by her husband Charles Goodson of Peoria, AZ, her daughter, Ruthie (Terry) Critten of Monroe City, MO.; a son Russell L. (Bonnie) Streich of Jameson, MO.; a step-daughter, Lynda Katz of Glendale, AZ., and a step-son Charles Goodson, Jr. of Peoria, AZ. two grandsons, Travis (Michelle) Critten of Quincy, Ill., and D. Critten of Monroe City, MO.; two granddaughters, April Streich and Ashlee Streich of Minneapolis, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Josiah Critten, Adara Fisher, Elias Critten, and Isaac Critten; one sister Patricia (Wayne) Puett of Gardner, KS.; four brothers, Charles (Carolyn) Becker and Steve (Sue) Becker both of Kansas City, MO., Floyd (Carole) Becker of Garden City, MO., and Larry (Alyndia) Becker of Fort Walton Beach, Fl.
