Roger W. Bedore of Westport, Connecticut, a prominent New York private banking executive with over 50 years of dedicated service to his clients, passed away on February 8, 2012. He was 68 years old. Roger was born into humble beginnings in the Adirondack logging town of Tupper Lake, New York in 1943. He was raised in a working class family, the son of a highway journeyman, Jedson Bedore, Jr., and a factory worker, Margaret Gaff, both predeceased. In his youth Roger was a skilled outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, skating and playing ice hockey. He always fondly recalled his youth in the small upstate town; visiting family and friends often. Roger had three children, Roger W. Bedore, Jr. of Livingston, NJ, Michael J. Bedore of Howell, NJ, and JoAnn Peters of Tappan, NY. He was a devoted father and grandfather and his children and grandchildren were his heart and soul. He enjoyed visiting with them as often as possible and spending time playing, laughing and spoiling them. Roger also enjoyed spending time with his friend, and confidant, Maria Lam, at their residence in Westport, CT., and their winter home in Marco Island, Fla. He was also an avid golfer and member at Blue Hill Country Club as well as the Rookery at Marco Golf Club. Roger is survived by his three children, his grandchildren, his long-time companion, Maria Lam, his brothers Gerald and James Bedore, as well as his estranged wife, JoAnn Bedore, and his beloved dog, Tupper. Services will be held at the Wyman Fisher Funeral Home at 100 Franklin Avenue in Pearl River, NY on February 12th from 12 to 4 PM. Interment is scheduled for the Springtime in Tupper Lake, NY.
