Life Legacy

Funeral services for the late SFC Harold Demond Johnson will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the PLM&D Center, Helena Crossing in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas.  He will lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the P L M & D District Center.  The visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2012 from 10:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.

Harold Demond Johnson was born June 30, 1972 to Robert Johnson Sr. and Juanita Cornelious in Helena, AR.

He accepted Christ at the age of 12 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Barton, AR. under the leadership of the late Rev. T. C. King. He was an active member fo the Malboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Killeen, TX.

He graduated from Barton High School in 1990. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and specialized in auto/diesel mechanic repair where he faithfully served.  He was disciplined and a quick learner.  During the 20 years of service to his country Harold accomplishe the distinct rank of E7 under the 181st Chemical Company Chemical Brigadge at Fort Hood, TX.  He was a highly decorated Sergeant First Class, the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Accommodation Medal 4 times, the Army Achievement Medal 4 times, the Army Good Conduct Medal 6 times, the National Defense Service Medal 2 times, the Korean Defense Service Medal 2 times, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Expedition Medal, the Non-Commissioned Office for Professional Development 3 times, the Army Service Ribbon 3 times and the Drivers Badge and the Mechanic Badge 2 times.  Harold was an active member of The Pride of Killeen Masonic Lodge #620.

Harold was respected by his peers as a resourceful, kind hearted and pretty good cook.  He was known to prepare huge meals and invite his fellow servicemin to dinner to encourage them and to share his faith.  Harold was affectionately called the "drill sergeant" when he would give out orders to family and was occasionally reminded that he was not on the base.  He loved people and shared whatever he had with anyone in need.  He loved to fish and whenever possivle he would go fishing.

On Friday, Fevruary 3, 2012 he departed this life at Carl R. Darnell Army Medical Center in Killeen, TX.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Ross and Kenneth Lucas; one sister, Mary Young, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

He was united in holy matrimony to Tonya Brown in 1994 adn to this union three children were born.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children, T'Mond, TaShoyn and TaOnyal; his mother, Juanita Cornelious, his father, Robert (Mary) Johnson; two sisters, Anita Larkin and Donna (Martain) Simes of Cordova, TN. Venus (LEroy) Marshall of Pine Bluff, Ar. Valerie (Darrius) Holmes of West Helena, AR; four brothers, Larry Livingston of Memphis, TN.; Kirby (Sheila) Cournelious of Desoto, TX, Arthur Lucas of Olive Branch, MS and Robert Johnson Jr., of Jacksonville, AR, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, cousins and friends.
