Mary Ann Cullen

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday December 28, at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Gallatin.

Service: Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 28th at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Gallatin.

Mary Ann Cullen 68 of Lake Viking passed away Wednesday December 21, 2011 at the Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin. Inurnment will be at Lake Viking Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of McWilliams Funeral Homes 1329 W. Grand, Gallatin, MO.

Mary Ann was born December 23, 1942 to William Claude and Meldie (Glass) Kelly in rural Breckenridge, MO, where she graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1960. She began her work career as a waitress in Chillicothe and later worked as a bank teller. Mary Ann started working for Missouri Social Security in Chillicothe retiring after over 25 years of dedicated service. She greatly enjoyed helping people and took great pride in serving the community. Mary Ann was united in marriage to William (Bill) Cullen May 16, 1987 in Brookfield. The couple made their home in the Chillicothe area moving to Lake Viking in 1998 to enjoy retirement and lake life.

Mary Ann was a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Gallatin. She enjoyed spending time with her friends whether it was playing card, eating out or just reminiscing; any social event was special. In her spare time she liked to reading. Bill and Mary Ann loved the lake whether it was spending time in the boat while Bill fished, skiing and just relaxing; she delighted in being near the water. In the winter the couple looked forward to taking their yearly cruise, visiting warm places. Mary Ann was committed to her family and treasured the time she spent with them. The legacy of Mary Ann’s kind spirit, gentle nature and zest for life will live on through them. She was a person of faith and lived life serving others; Mary Ann will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Bill of the home, sons, David Englert and Tracy Englert and wife Andrea all of Chillicothe, brother Joe Kelly of Riverside, MO, Mary Ann has 2 grandchildren.
