Paula Lynn Black, of Rockford departed this earthly life Thursday, February 2, 2012 in Swedish American Hospital after a long illness. She was born January 2, 1962 in Henderson, Kentucky the daughter of Joseph Sr. and Patsy Black. Paula lived in Rockford 49 years coming from Kentucky. She was employed several years by Rockford Products before retiring in 1999. Paula was a member of South Side Church of Christ. She attended Jefferson High School and graduated from West High School class of 1981. Paula leaves to cherish many memories, three daughters, Shalisha (Lawrance) Sanders, Bianca and Vanity Black; twelve grandchildren, one sister, Sheila Barnes; four brothers, Joseph Black Jr., Delbert (Mechole) Black, Kevin Black and Lamont (Regina) Black; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents. Services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church 724 Harrison Avenue. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
