Julia Ann (nee Meszaros) Bomentre , age 53, of Bristol died in the comfort of her home on Thursday, December 1st, after a lengthy illness. By her side was her daughter, who courageously shared every step of the fight against a terminal disease to a peaceful end.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Marianne Bomentre (Fenton Larrisey). Julie is also survived by her parents, John L. and Julia R. (Guyer) Meszaros, formerly of Morrisville and now residing in Bensalem; three brothers, John W. Meszaros of Langhorne, PA; Karl L. Meszaros of Warrington, PA; and Frank R. Meszaros (Sandy) of North Wales, PA., as well as a large extended family, and many caring friends from all walks of life.
Julie dedicated her life to her family in roles of a mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, confidant and friend. After a short, difficult marriage, she was a single-mom, a Bristol mom, a Disney World mom, a T-ball mom, softball mom, field hockey mom, basketball mom, National Honor Society mom, Penn State mom, and loving and caring mom.
True to her roots and upbringing, she was a shrewd shopper and negotiator, always finding ways to stretch a modest income to provide a better life for her daughter and herself. She was also an enabler of continuing and new family traditions. Her home on Pond Street in Bristol was always a welcoming destination for family and friends and the site of many festive gatherings.
Julie was a full-time employee of what is now the Capital Health System in New Jersey for more than 34 years. Aside from earning a livelihood, Julie treasured the interaction and friendships of numerous co-workers, past and present, whose incredible support, alongside that of family and area residents, was indispensible in navigating the final difficult years. Relatives and friends will be received at The James O. Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, PA on Wednesday from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 8th, at St. Ann Church on the corner of Pond and Dorrance Streets in Bristol, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer mass cards or contributions be made in the name of Julie Bomentre to the National Brain Tumor Society.
