Mrs. Anna LeBerda Banks-Wilkinson went home to be with Our Savior Wednesday, November 30, 2011 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Dr. Jeffery L. Singletary, her pastor, will be officiating the Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Exciting Central Tampa Baptist Church, 2923 N. Tampa Street, Tampa, Florida. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Tampa, FL.
Anna L. Banks-Wilkinson was a native of Tampa, Florida. She attended the public Schools of Hillsborough County. “Miss Anna”, as she was lovingly called, graduated from Plant High School in Tampa, FL in 1984. She was a pillar and Charter Member of Exciting Central Tampa Baptist Church where she ministered and worked in administration for over 15 years. She was an active participant in many ministries such as Students, Women’s Preschool & Children, Mass Choir & Praise Team, Hands of Faith, a cancer support ministry she and her husband initiated at Central, and others. She also facilitated many other ministries and special events throughout her years of service at Idlewild Baptist Church and here at Central. Anna’s motto was, “Together with Christ we can make a difference,” She lived by these words and touched the lives of so many with her courageous, sweet and gentle spirit. She will be dearly missed.
Anna was born September 15, 1966 in Tampa, Florida. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Mae Robinson.
She leaves her loving soul mate and husband, Deacon Gary Wilkinson; her 2 devoted daughters, Alicia and Jalisa Wilkinson; siblings, Oscar Baker (Margaret), Clyde Darnell (Sylvia), Terry Darnell (Queen), Linda Darnell Cook (Lee), Larry Darnell and Jerry Darnell; godchildren, Ciara Burns, Devon Jackson, Chasney Dexter, DJ Ward, Jordan Ward, DeAna Ward, Azaria Harvey and Kalyce Williams; many more adopted godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends to cherish precious memories of her.
Viewing will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL 33605 on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M.
